HOLOGRAPHY IN IMAGING AND VIDEO
ccording to Television Digest of June 6, 1994, NTT (Nippon Telephone & Telegraph) has developed holographic technology that can record approximately 30 hours of moving pictures on a piece of crystal the size of a fingernail. NTT uses Photochemincal Hole Burning (PHB) also known as Spectral Hole Burning. This technique gives storage densities of up to 10 terabits per centimeter square. A new storage medium was developed by NTT which accepts holographic light interferecne patterns without necessity of converting analog signals to digital form.
